FVA at the Heart of the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival – Rome Edition

As part of the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival, promoted by the European Commission’s DG Research and Innovation, FVA New Media Research and APRE within the GenB project, ScienzaInsieme and Cluster SPRING, in partnership with Lazio Innova and Unitelma Sapienza, organised the Rome Edition Satellite Event.

Held from 12 to 14 March 2024, the event involved around 500 students from middle and high schools across the Lazio Region and aimed to actively involve young people in shaping the transition towards a sustainable and circular bioeconomy in Europe.

On 14 March, during a dynamic morning hosted at Spazio Europa in Rome, FVA New Media Research played a key role in delivering engaging and educational activities for high school students. In particular, FVA:

  • Organised a bioeconomy quiz, designed to challenge students’ knowledge and curiosity on sustainability topics;

  • Supported the GenB Youth Ambassadors in leading interactive games, contributing to their training and visibility as peer communicators. In particular, FVA team members facilitated “Escape4Future”, an escape game co-designed with high school students within the GenB project, offering an immersive, play-based learning experience on environmental and circular economy challenges and contributed to the Bioeconomy Village, an exhibition area showcasing a wide selection of bio-based products, illustrating real-life applications of the bioeconomy and fostering tangible connections with innovation.

With its creative and participatory approach, FVA continues to support youth engagement and science communication in European initiatives, helping future generations become informed and active contributors to a more sustainable future.
