FVA Team made waves at the EU Ocean Days 2025 in Brussels!

The FVA team actively participated in the EU Ocean Days 2025 in Brussels (3-7 March), contributing to several key sessions and promoting the children’s book “Our Blue Treasure”, developed within the BlueMissionMed project.

The official launch of “Our Blue Treasure” took place at the BlueMissionMed exhibition booth, attracting wide interest with hands-on labs, playful activities, and a digital showcase of innovative solutions. The book, authored by Susanna, Selenia, and Valentina, with Louis Ferrini as art director and Alistar Illustration as illustrator, was also featured in:

  • The Ocean Literacy Island, where partnerships were explored for broader educational uptake;

  • The “Young Voices for the Ocean” session, where it was gifted to Young Ocean Ambassadors;

  • The “Strengthening Blue Education” workshop, as a best practice for engaging youth and citizens;

  • The Roundtable with Universities, where it was presented as a symbolic bridge between education and research.

FVA and BlueMissionMed partners took part also in the Mission Forum cluster meetings, sharing recommendations in sessions focused on:

  • Objective 1: ecosystem protection and restoration

  • Objectives 2 & 3: pollution reduction and circular blue economy

  • The book was highlighted in the session on Mission enablers (Digital Knowledge and Public Mobilisation) as an impactful youth engagement tool.

FVA also co-organised and participated at the “Cross Lighthouse Synergies” workshop, facilitating knowledge exchange and cooperation with other CSA projects to align strategies across sea basins for the next Mission phase.
