Friday, 20 October 2017 – New collaboration for BIOWAYS with Unitelma Sapienza and the STAR-ProBio European Project.
FVA the Italian Partner of BIOWAYS introduced the Project, aiming at Increase public awareness of bio-based products and applications supporting the growth of the European bioeconomy during the STAR-ProBio General Assembly at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Furthermore, the BIOWAYS research results and the Serious Game “Bio…What?” were presented.
STAR-ProBio – Sustainability Transition Assessment and Research of Bio-based Products is a multi-actor collaborative Research and Innovation Action (RIA) coordinated by Unitelma Sapienza University and including 15 partners from 11 European countries.
The Project integrates scientific and engineering approaches with social sciences and humanities-based approaches to formulate guidelines for a common framework promoting the development of regulations and standards supporting the adoption of business innovation models in the bio-based products sector.
The aim of STAR-ProBio is to cover gaps in the existing framework for sustainability assessment of bio-based products, and improve consumer acceptance for bio-based products by identifying the critical sustainability issues in their value chains.
All the Partners involved attended the meeting and discussed the WP and the project implementation aspects.
