BIOWAYS partecipated on the 5th – 6th Of October 2017 in Rome to the 7th edition of IFIB – Italian Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy organized by Assobiotec, the Italian Association for the development of biotechnology which is part of the national Federation of Chemical Industry (Federchimica), together with Innovhub-SSI, the Italian Green Chemistry Cluster SPRING and Lazio Innova – aimed at strengthening the bioeconomy network in the Euro-Mediterranean area and to promote partnerships.
The focus of the Forum has been biotechnology, as provider of new resources for industries.
It has been organized into round tables and sessions devoted to specific sub-sectors of industrial biotechnology: circular economy, energy and biorefineries, agro-food, life-sciences, policies on industrial biotech and bioeconomy, bio-based industries; involving international speakers coming from key sector’s players: BInCanada, CLIB2021, Novamont, NextSteppe USA etc. The workshop also included a session dedicated to shared pilot facilities within the EU project European Smart Pilots.
