8-9 October 2020, online
Susanna Albertini (FVA New Media Research) representative of the PRONTO project delivered the info-training course “How to facilitate public procurement of innovative services and products (PPI)””.
The objective of the info-training was to help public administrations, decision makers on one hand and purchasing managers, on the other, to orient themselves in the world of public procurement of innovation (PPI) by providing them with highlights on specific characteristics of PPI.
Different topics were covered from the most general such as how Europe promotes innovation through public procurement and what are public procurement of innovative services and products (PPI), to more specific topics such as regulatory frameworks and the state of art in Europe and Italy.
Specific training needs have been identified thanks to interviews conducted with Italian key players in the Public Procurement, involving public procurers (demand side), innovative companies (supply side) and actors who facilitate the ecosystem for innovation (innovation brokers).
Case studies and European projects that promote PPI to showcase replicable innovation procurement approaches and strategies were also presented to inspire and inform the participants.
